Mobile device use increasing around the U.S.

As more shoppers search for ways to stay up to date, many consumers are purchasing smartphones and tablets. In fact, the number of mobile device users continues to rise around the globe, which may affect many online vendors in the near future.

For example, Practical eCommerce points out that recent data shows tablet-driven e-commerce sales could account for up to 13 percent of all online purchases by U.S. consumers this year. Additionally, researchers recently found that 49 percent of Americans between the ages of 35 and 44 own a tablet, and this figure could increase if web merchants invest in solutions to bolster their interactions with mobile device users.

Credit card processing platforms and merchant accounts are worthwhile for online retailers of all sizes. Because these solutions enable shoppers to buy items without delay, web merchants could profit if they promote their offerings to smartphone and tablet owners over the next few years.

Consumer confidence in mobile shopping is also increasing. A June 2013 Parcel2Go survey revealed that more businesses are taking steps to ensure that mobile device users enjoy their shopping experiences, and various companies may profit if they connect with those who use smartphones and tablets regularly.
